On one of Emily’s excursions into the wilds of the unmanicured grounds behind her home, she discovers a crumbling bridge and attempts to cross the structure, only to have it collapse beneath her and send her tumbling into the realm of the Trolls.

Excerpt
Excerpt“Emily Marie.” The troll leaned close.
I tipped the book just enough to make eye contact and coated my voice with sugar. “Yes Auntie?”
Pale blue eyes burned like twin lamps. “What have you been doing all this time? Up to trouble, no doubt.” Auntie always saw through my best efforts to act innocent.
“Reading, Auntie, only reading.” I offered my shield.
Auntie shuffled farther into my tiny sanctuary, her cane scraping the floor every other step. Grateful for the acres of overstuffed and over-frilled pillows, I sank below the edges of my open book into soft and scratchy folds.
I averted my gaze to the image on the page and met eyes as cold as Auntie’s. The caption at the top read, “TROLL.”
